From the mountains of North America to the sacred territories of the South, Iván Sawyer García has walked for over a decade in service of culture, Mother Earth, and indigenous peoples. As an event producer, activist, and audiovisual creator, his work has been fundamental in the dissemination and preservation of indigenous knowledge through initiatives of cultural exchange, sustainability, and defense of the rights of nature.
Iván has collaborated with impactful organizations such as the Council of Vision Guardians of the Earth and the Four Worlds International Institute, as well as with emblematic events like the Corn Festival in Tepoztlán, the Wirikuta Fest 2012, which brought together musicians in defense of the sacred desert of Wirikuta, and the First International Forum for the Rights of Nature in 2016.
As the founder and director of Voces de Amerikua, he has woven a network of collaboration among musicians, filmmakers, and indigenous communities to amplify the voices of those who safeguard the essence of our planet. Through this multimedia platform, his work has documented and made visible the struggles and resistances of indigenous peoples in the face of the environmental and human rights crises we face today.
