José Lino Jardines Ortega is a man whose life has been a bridge between scientific knowledge and ancestral tradition, a walker of Anáhuac who has dedicated his existence to the service of Mother Earth and indigenous peoples: José Lino Jardines Ortega.
Born on September 11, 1972, José Lino grew up in Mexico City, but his deep roots connect him to the land of his ancestors in San Lorenzo Sayula, Hidalgo. Grandson of “Compa Che,” an Otomi from the Sierra de Puebla and a staunch defender of land reform, he has inherited the spirit of struggle and service to the community.
🔬 Science and Environment in Service of Life
Since his training as a chemical engineer at UNAM, José Lino has focused his knowledge on environmental protection. His specialization in wastewater treatment and aquifer purification has led him to develop solutions for the preservation of water, our source of life. As a professor at the Faculty of Engineering at UNAM, he has planted knowledge in new generations, combining science with a vision of ecological responsibility.
🏙 Designer of Sustainable Cities and Servant of the Peoples
With a deep concern for collective well-being, he found his vocation in building spaces for the new humanity. His path led him to the National Indigenous Governorship, where, as National Secretary of the Environment, he traveled the territories of multiple ethnic groups, creating alliances and strategies for the development of the peoples. Subsequently, at CONADEPOA, he has served as National Technical Secretary, contributing his knowledge to the strengthening of indigenous and Afro-Mexican communities.

Beyond his technical and social work, José Lino is a custodian of the Toltec power staff, a scholar of Toltequity, and an initiate in the teachings of Quetzalcóatl. He shares his wisdom in circles of word, temazcales, and workshops, transmitting ancestral knowledge with humility and dedication.
