Chief of the Canton and the Mouzgou Grouping
Grandfather Alhadar Samro, Chief of the Canton and the Mouzgou Grouping in the Nigerien region of Tarka, is a leader who merges modern experience with traditional roots. After a distinguished career of over thirty years as a senior official at the mining company Areva (now Orano), contributing to regional economic development, he shifted his public service by being elected as a member of the National Assembly in 2020.
However, ancestral tradition called him back in April 2021. Following the death of his father, the community unanimously appointed him as the new Chief of the Canton. Aware of the significance of this role, he resigned from his legislative position to fully dedicate himself to his traditional responsibilities.
As Chief of the Canton, Grandfather Alhadar is a guardian of the customs and culture of his people. His leadership is distinguished by wisdom in conflict resolution, the preservation of oral history, and the transmission of ancestral knowledge to new generations. His figure represents a valuable bridge between the modernity of his administrative experience and the spiritual legacy of his ancestors, always seeking harmony and the well-being of his community.
