New Fire Purépecha
Grandfather Manuel Hernández, known as "Tarasco," is a sun dancer with a history of 32 dances and three vision quests in four-year cycles each. His experience in dance also includes the Mexica or Conchera tradition, which he began at the Table of Don Felipe Aranda in Mexico City 38 years ago. Of Purépecha origin, born in Michoacán, he has supported movements in favor of the Huichol and Seri peoples, and is currently actively participating in support of the New Fire Purépecha and the youth of Peribán.
