Network of Women from the South

Cecilia Sánchez Ramírez is a transformative leader with over 15 years of experience, leaving an indelible mark in southern Mexico. A pioneer as the first woman in all categories of a key petrochemical plant, she now leads the influential network Women Leaders of the South (over 60,000 members), promoting social justice, economic equity, and community integration.

Director at Grupo Energética de México (GEMEX) and President of the first automotive union in the south founded by women, Cecilia promotes sustainable models, female participation in the economy, and labor justice. She is a proponent of the Interoceanic Corridor with a gender perspective, creator of the first mass trip of women on the Isthmus Train, and founder of the Casa Morada de Tatahuicapan for indigenous women. She also created the Catrinas and Mesoamerica Festival.

Recognized nationally, she has spoken at Congress and has been highlighted for her leadership in labor rights and female integration. With diverse training and a life philosophy based on sharing knowledge, Cecilia Sánchez Ramírez is a brave voice that ignites change and builds a more just and equitable Mexico.
