Defender of Indigenous and Afro-descendant Human Rights

Grandfather Enrique Martínez Suárez is a defender of indigenous and Afro-descendant human rights, originally from the Otomí Hñähñu people. His career encompasses science, the defense of human rights, and the recovery of ancestral wisdom.

Doctor in Educational Psychology, Master in Psychology, and Bachelor in Biology, he is a specialist in Agrarian, Environmental, and Indigenous Law. He has worked for over 27 years as a promoter and defender of human rights, serving as a national and international speaker, activist, university professor, journalist, and researcher.

Currently, he presides over the National Parliament of Human Rights, Indigenous Peoples, Women's Forum, Gender Equity, and Ancestral Medicine in the Congress of the Union, and represents the International Council of Indigenous Peoples before the Global Monitoring Committee of the SDGs. Additionally, he is Tlacuiltecatl of the Tlahtokan Mexhika of the Anáhuak Valley and coordinates various foundations, media outlets, educational institutions, and sustainable projects.
