Ethnomusicologist and Mexica Dancer

Also known as Homero Aztlán, he is an educator and artist originally from Actopan, Hidalgo. From an early age, he showed a deep interest in music and pre-Hispanic Mexico.

Inspired by the Archaeological Zone of Tula, he dedicated himself to studying the music of the ancient peoples of Mexico, training as an ethnomusicologist and multi-instrumentalist. He masters instruments such as the huehuetl, the teponaztle, flutes, and ocarinas.

At the age of 18, he began teaching pre-Hispanic music workshops at the Normal School of the State of Querétaro, where he founded the group AZTLÁN, dedicated to music with pre-Hispanic instruments.

His commitment to spreading the worldview of the ancient peoples of Mexico has led him to create workshops for pre-Hispanic music and dance for children and youth, and to direct the AZTLÁN Company, which integrates music, conchera dance, Mesoamerican poetry, theater, and indigenous games.

He has represented Mexico in various local, national, and international forums, including the Vatican and festivals in the United States and Colombia.
