Marlen Torres García is a woman deeply committed to education, culture, and social transformation, whose work stands out for its impact on the defense and strengthening of indigenous peoples. Her career is characterized by perseverance exemplified in her motto "It looks like we are going slow, but it is slow and steady...", which reflects her constant focus on achieving meaningful change.
Throughout her career, Marlen has held various roles, including State Coordinator of Indigenous Peoples in Women Transforming Mexico – Edomex, where she promotes female leadership, and Professional Technician in Childcare, dedicated to child welfare. She has also worked as an Academic Teacher, Promoter and Educational Supervisor, and as a Rehabilitation and Social Activist, demonstrating her versatility and commitment to social justice. Additionally, her participation as a Vote Promoter underscores her interest in encouraging civic engagement. In the realm of indigenous peoples, she has held leadership positions such as Municipal Coordinator of the Permanent Inter-American Congress of Indigenous and Migrant Peoples (CPIPOyM) and Municipal Coordinator of the Otomi Council in San Mateo Atenco, State of Mexico, where she has worked for the defense of indigenous rights and the strengthening of cultural identity.
