Peace Schools
INTERNATIONAL NETWORK OF PEACE SCHOOLS
Dance for World Peace invites educational centers around the world to be part of a movement united by a single intention: to contribute to world peace through dance.
Dance becomes a simple and concrete way to meet, share, cooperate, and celebrate diversity.
The Project
Throughout the year, students are invited to discover, transmit, or create dances.
Traditional, folk, local, contemporary, urband, classical, or free creations: all forms of dance can be part of the project.
Each school freely chooses how to bring this proposal to life with their students.
The essential thing is not the performance.
The essential thing is to dance together with a single intention: peace.

MAY 17 —
World Peace Dance Day
Every year, on the 17th of May, World Dance for Peace Day, participating schools are invited to present one or several dances prepared with their students.
From each school, each city, and each country, students thus participate in a single intention of world peace.
One dance. Thousands of students. One movement. One intention.
Become a Peace School
By joining the project, the educational center becomes part of the international movement Dance for World Peace.
A credential document, which officially recognizes its participation in the movement.
The Peace Schools thus join the Peoples of Peace, an international network of territories and communities committed to fostering a culture of peace and unity.

A project that lives all year round
May 17 is the global meeting. But the initiative can develop throughout the year through:
discovery · transmission · creation · the meeting · cooperation
Each school is free to adapt the project to the age of its students, its context, and its possibilities.
Because peace is not decreed.
It is built together.
It is lived. It is shared. It is danced.
Be part of the international network of peace schools
