Grandfather Ek Balam, Juan de Dios Rivera Paredes, brings together two dimensions that have profoundly marked his life: an extensive professional career as an engineer and a commitment to the preservation and transmission of the ancestral knowledge of the indigenous peoples of Mexico.
Industrial and Systems Engineer, he has developed his career for decades in the energy, industrial, and hydrocarbons sectors, working in institutions and companies such as PEMEX and the Energy Regulatory Commission, mainly in areas of quality, process management, safety, and environmental protection.
At the same time, in his ancestral path, he is known as Juan Balam. He is an Olmec Maya Grandfather, Ah Men, and Halach Uinik, an Olmec Maya healer and bioenergetic healer with quartz. His journey also integrates practices of bioharmonization and quantum constellation, and he participates in the Council of Ancestral Wisdom.
Committed to the recovery and transmission of the knowledge of indigenous cultures, he has promoted a project before Mexican institutions for the creation of a University dedicated to the knowledge of the pre-Hispanic cultures of Mexico, an initiative that was channeled from the Presidency of the Republic to the competent educational authorities.
From the union of ancestral knowledge, service, and professional experience, Grandfather Juan Balam joins the circle of conveners of Dance for World Peace, contributing his commitment to the wisdom of indigenous peoples, healing, respect for Mother Earth, and the construction of paths of peace and unity among peoples.
