Artist and Composer
AKNA, whose name means Mother Earth in Maya and Inuit variants, is an artist and composer originally from Chiapas, Mexico. Along with the Mexiquense artist and producer Zensei Almeida, she has shared the stage with figures such as Tania Libertad, Astrid Hadad, Los Cojolites, and Eugenia León.
Her music, present in 2 albums and 2 EPs, spans genres such as World Music, folk rock, ethnic indie pop, and electronic, accumulating over 16 million streams on various platforms worldwide. This has led her to headline festivals of Spirituality, Shamanism, and Medicine Music, and to participate in global movements for peace, the Sacred Feminine, the awakening of consciousness, and the return to ancestral wisdom in connection with ourselves, Mother Earth, and the Universe. She was named Great Mother of Witches and spiritual beings at the Carnival of Cultures in Mexico City.
She is currently on tour in Mexico, presenting concerts as a prelude to her international projects, while preparing her album "MAYA."
