Born within the Conchera tradition in Mexico (Querétaro) and traditional medicine, Grandfather Shuwa Quetzalmixcoatl began his journey in ceremonial dance from a very young age. At the age of 9, he was baptized as Quetzalmixcoatl by Grandfather Titlan in Teotihuacán.

He belongs to the indigenous community of Cuitlahuica Momoxca Chichimeca, a descendant of traditional healers and dancers. He was guided by his grandmother, Tlacualera, traveling to many places in the republic through dance.

He has traveled through different regions of Mexico and abroad as an artisan, dancer, and healer. He also participated with the Lakota brothers in the Sun Dance and has represented Mexico at the United Nations in New York.

He was welcomed into the Conchera Dance Table Arcangel San Rafael (Concheros of Ixatayopan), where he was named captain, and created his own Table in honor of the Lady of Mitlan.

Born in a temazcal, he shares traditional medicine and guides temazcales. He currently organizes health days for indigenous traditional medicine.

Today he is the president of the ancestral council of indigenous peoples of Cem Anáhuac A.C. and continues to participate in gatherings of elders and ceremonies in different places around the world.

With more than 52 years on the path, he walks as a wise elder and dancer.

It is an honor to have him here present within this group of the Dance for World Peace.
