Guardian of Ancestral Wisdom
TheGrandfather José Manuel Martínez, affectionately known asGrandfather Chema, is originally from Minatitlán, Veracruz, and is a guardian of ancestral wisdom committed to preserving the living traditions of the indigenous peoples of Mexico.
His spiritual journey began in 2008, when he started theMaya Pathaccompanied by Grandfather Akme Bartolomé in the sacred town ofEk Balam, the heart of the Maya territory. Since then, his search and service have led him to visit powerful ceremonial centers, such asEl Tajín, Chichén ItzáandTeotihuacan, strengthening his bond with Mother Earth and ancestral energies.
In the year2017, Grandfather Chema wasnamed Supreme Chief of the Indigenous People of Minatitlán, a recognition that honors his commitment to spirituality, the defense of culture, and community service.
His word is medicine.
