Dolores Torres García, originally from San Mateo Atenco, has a deeply committed trajectory in the fight for the dignity of indigenous peoples. For decades, she has actively participated at the community, municipal, regional, and state levels as part of the Supreme Otomí Autonomous Council of the State of Mexico.

As a councilor in the areas of markets and ecology, she promotes a development vision based on the worldview of indigenous peoples, defending their right to be consulted through prior, free, and informed assemblies, so that their voices are taken into account at various levels of government. Additionally, through her participation in the Permanent Inter-American Congress of Indigenous and Migrant Peoples, she works in the Secretariat of Social Development promoting alliances and actions aimed at fulfilling the 17 goals of the 2030 Agenda from a community perspective.

Guided by slogans such as "Never again without us" and "Standing and fighting until dignity becomes customary," Dolores embodies a constant struggle — without haste but without pause — where word, law, and reason are paths to social justice.
